The Seafood Exporters Association of India was established in year 1973. This is an organisation registered under the Registrar of Companies Act 1956. This is the only organisation that is catering for the well being of the seafood exporting fraternity of this country. Almost 90% of the seafood exporters of India are members of this organisation.

The main objective of SEAI is to protect and promote the interests of the marine industry and generally the members of this association are engaged in seafood business. SEAI is in the look out of establishing various infrastructure facilities in various coastal states like landing centres, water treatment plants, common effluent treatment plants etc.

SEAI is having its head office in Kochi in Kerala and eight regional offices in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnatka, Gujarat, Orissa, West Bengal, Maharastra and Andhra Pradesh.
