Established in 1951 NEDECO is an independent non-profit foundation that promotes Dutch consultancy know-how and skills in the area of land & water, transport, infra-structures and environment. In close co-operation with the Dutch government, NEDECO initiates pre-competitive strategies for projects and technical assistance in sustainable development and infrastructure projects in countries around the world. A large majority of the Dutch consultancy firms and technology institutes working world wide in the above fields are affiliated with NEDECO and are supported by the foundation's Secretariat.

NEDECO has initiated the formation of a launching team to enhance the use of public private co-operation in international projects. In this team public and private heavyweights from the Dutch world of infrastructure will come together. Goal is to initiate activities in international markets for transport, logistics and related infrastructure al well as the formation of an intermediating platform to stimulate and regulate this public-private cooperation in civil engineering.

The NEDECO network consists of some 20 independent Dutch consultancy organisations and technology institutes working internationally in the fields of land & water, transport, environment and infrastructure. The firms cover a much wider field of expertise, but the network limits itself to these sectors where specifically Dutch experience and publicly and privately developed know how meet. Members of the NEDECO network are well established independent Dutch consultant firms or technological institutes with extensive international experience.
