In In November 2008, Maastricht University started the Maastricht University India Institute (MUII) in Maastricht. The MUII is a unique India knowledge hub in Europe which hosts leading researchers in Maastricht and India who collaborate on increasing the understanding of contemporary Indian business and industry. The Institute intends to take a leading role as an intermediary in connecting partners as well as focusing on building new strategic networks for research and business and industry collaboration in India and Europe.

The Maastricht University India Institute will have a local presence in India hosted by the Maastricht University Office in Bangalore (opening early 2009). From this Maastricht University base in India we will be able to directly link to the local industry partners and research community for their research projects.

In cooporation with the India Institute and various university faculties, the Bangalore office will also offer a range of tailor made programmes to interested parties in the fields of education, health and medicine, knowledge management and IPR, global trade and general business and management.
