The Tinbergen Institute is the institute of economic research of the Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam (EUR), the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA), and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU).
The Institute is founded in 1987 and named after Professor Jan Tinbergen, Dutch Nobel Prize laureate in economics in 1969.
More than 100 research fellows and approximately 170 M.Phil. and Ph.D. students participate in the institute's research programme and educational programme. The Tinbergen Institute offers a two year M.Phil. programme in economics, that is part of a five-year Ph.D. track.
International researchers visit the Tinbergen Institute to give seminars and workshops, or to meet the research fellows of the institute.
The Tinbergen Institute has two locations: Amsterdam and Rotterdam. At both locations seminars, conferences and workshops are organised throughout the year. The address of the Timbergen Institute in Rotterdam is:
