Karbi Anglong Wildlife Sanctuary
This sanctuary is located in
Karbi Anglong district of Assam and covers an area of 96 kms2.
Karbi Anglong is rich in varied wild life. Animals commonly found here are: elephant, leopard, water Buffalo, etc. Monitor lizard and pythons are also sighted.
Bird species include great Himalayan hornbill, green imperial pigeon, emerald dove, hill partridges, jungle fowl, hoopoe, king fisher, etc.
Nearest major railhead is at Diphu.
