Bura-Chapori Wildlife Sanctuary
Bura-Chapori Wild Life Sanctury was a sandbank situated on the north bank of the Brahmaputra river in Sonitpurdistrict. In 1995 it became a Wild Life Sanctury. It is a samll park of about about 44-kms2.

Bengal Florican is a scarce resident in North-East India. This turkey-sized landbird has been reduced in numbers by hunting and habitat loss, and is globally threatened. Bura-Chopai is considered to be the ideal habitat for this bird. It is also home to various species of migratory birds. Some of the birds found in this sencturay are:

Bengal Florican, Black Necked Strok, Mallard, Open Billed Stork, Teal, Wisteling Duck, and many others.

Barking deer, Civet Cat, Elephants, Hog Deer, Leopard, One Horned Rhinoceros, Otter, Samber deers, Tiger, Wild Boar Wild Buffalo etc. are some of the animals which habitat Bura-Chapori Wild Life Sanctury.

The nearest airport is Saloni about 10-km from Tezpur which is 181 km away from Guwahati.

The nearest railway station is Rangapara 60-kms from Bhalukpong, in Sonitpur district.

Regular buses ply to and from Tezpur, which is well connected with all the major cities of Assam

Best time to visit the park is from November to March
