In most of the public places and places of worship photography is allowed. Some of the places you have pay to bring in a camera. The tickets for video cameras are much more than photo cameras and it almost always higher than the entrance fee.

- Special permission of the Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi,
is required for use of tripod and artificial light to photograph
monuments
- Photography in the wildlife sanctuaries is allowed on payment of a prescribed fee. Photography is prohibited in tribal areas.
