Visa for India and Consular Services - The Hague

All foreign nationals who intend to travel to India must have a valid passport and require visa to enter India. However, there are some relaxations for Bhutanese and Nepalese nationals.

Information for Tours which offers trekking and mountaineering expeditions to India.
  • Where the proposed tour includes any point above 6000 mtrs, visa may be given only after receiving the formal clearance from the Indian Mountaineering Federation.
  • Where the proposed tour is for areas below 6000 mtrs. the visa applications should be accompanied by an travel plan indicating days and places to be visited along with their height, a map of the proposed area with the distinct markings of the places to be visited and a copy of the brochure outlining the tour highlights. These details are required to ensure that the proposed tour does not violate the mandatory conditions laid down by the IMF.

Group Landing Permits (Visa on arrival)

Foreign tourists in groups of four or more arriving by Air or Sea, sponsored by recognised Indian Travel Agencies and with a pre-drawn itinerary can be granted collective landing permit for a specified period of time (maximum for 30 days) on the written request of the Travel Agencies to the Immigration Officer giving full personal and passport details of the group members, itinerary and undertaking to conduct the group as per the itinerary, and an assurance that no individual would be allowed to drop out from the group at any place.
