The Foundation of Philosophy and Meditation is a Dutch organisation which was founded in 1995 and is run by volunteers.

The objective of the Foundation is to have each individual discover his or her true destiny in life. A balanced mind and knowledge of one’s own talents are essential to reach this objective. Religious and philosophical scriptures from East and West are being studied and people are encouraged to practice the instructions and methods given in the scriptures in their daily lives. The traditions studied are the Christian tradition (Western and Eastern) as well as Indian Vedanta and Buddhism.

The Foundation’s efforts are directed to translating the traditional teachings into practical instructions which can be used by modern man living in this Western society.

The Foundation is open to all religious and philosophical systems.

The Foundation does not have any commercial objectives whatsoever. The larger part of the Foundation’s revenues are donations. No fees are asked for following a course, only contributions (consisting of a reimbursement of expenses plus a donation). The financial situation of an individual may never be an obstacle to participate in a course.

The Foundation has a study centre in Amstelveen and two retreat centres: one in Egmond aan den Hoef, the Netherlands and one in Brognon, Northern France.

The Foundation of Philosophy and Meditation gives people the opportunity to follow a philosophy course.

Meditation has become more and more important in the last few years. In the Foundation the focus is more on the inner motive which underlies meditation. Within the Foundation various meditation techniques are practised such as mantra meditation, meditation on the breath, visual forms of meditation (e.g. candle light) and guided forms of meditation.

Apart from the philosophy course the following activities are being organised:
  • Integral health programs (including a preventive program and 'dealing with cancer' retreats)
  • Youth and education programs including summer camps and the 'School of Peace'
  • Individual retreats in France
  • Icon and mandala painting
  • Charitative works both in the Netherlands as in India
