Shahzad was borne in Lahore, Pakistan and hails from the prestigious Shamchaurasi gharana. He was trained under the guidance of his father, Ustad Imtiaz Ali Khan who imparted him knowledge of the genres of khayal, thumri, kafi, thumri, ghazal and sufi music.Shahzad has performed in several countries.
