Founded in June 1999, Medlook is a medical Internet company. This company provides the Medlook system, an Internet-based ‘Electronic Patient Record’ (EPR) system. The record is a ‘citizen initiated record‘ – so far known the first of its kind in Europe.

Every patient can open his/her own medical record and update the contents. Through the Internet the patient has always access to his/her medical data.

The medical file contains details of inoculations, allergies, history of chronicle diseases, information on blood pressure, blood sugar content, weight, details of pace maker, ECG, prescription from a specialist and visit to the GP etc.

The GP of the patient can check the contents online and confirm the same. With the permission of the patient, the pharmacist as well as the patients health care services can also update relevant data of the medical record of the patient.

Medlook is the first company in the Netherlands to develop an interactive system where the pharmacist can register online the medicine used by the patient. Through this system the patient can order medicines, prescribed by the GP directly with the pharmacy. More than 23.000 00 people have such an EPR.

At present the development and maintenance work of the system is out sourced to an Indian company.
