The NFIA has helped hundreds of foreign companies initiate or
expand operations in the Netherlands. In all, more than 5,000 foreign companies have established operations in the Netherlands.
In preparing to conduct business activities in the Netherlands, a company is presented with many choices ranging from site location, legal and fiscal matters to permit requirements and employment issues. Compared to other EU countries, the Netherlands has a flexible and liberal legal framework for the organization of enterprises by non-resident companies or individuals. There are no special restrictions on foreign-owned companies that wish to start a business in the Netherlands.
The NFIA can provide you with action plans and basic information that will speed up the implementation process. We can also introduce you to the right authorities and provide contact details of supporting organizations and business development agencies.
As a government agency, the NFIA provides information and practical assistance free of charge. All its services are provided on a confidential basis. These include providing insight and data with regard to site selection and logistics strategies; intensive, personal guidance on such matters as available incentives, permit procedures and tax structures. The NFIA introduces corporate investors to a variety of Dutch networks and service suppliers in business, to government authorities at national and regional levels, to academic and private sector consultants, and to others, of relevance to the investment process.
The NFIA is a division of the Dutch ministry of Economic Affairs and an expression of its full commitment to expediting foreign direct investment in the Netherlands.
